Eating food as a way to cope with negative emotions, such as stress, boredom, or sadness. It is a behavior that often involves indulging in highly palatable and energy-dense foods, beyond one's hunger and nutritional needs. Emotional eating can become a cycle that perpetuates negative emotions and can lead to weight gain, chronic diseases, and mental health problems.

😕 EA happens when we are wrapped up in strong feelings or emotions - which are triggered by many ups and downs in our day to day, including stress. There is no actual hunger. Just feelings as we deal with something while we eat. 😬Cravings are driven by nutritional deficiencies, habits, behavior patterns, environment… Not all EA is bad - sometimes we eat a cupcake to celebrate an achievement - nothing wrong with that! 🌪Destructive EA however happens by eating often and everyday, non-mindful eating.
