I am

A Registered Nurse.

A Certified Wellness Practitioner.

A Certified Life Coach.

I am a Registered Nurse (RN) of over 20+ years. I specialized in adult hospital (acute) care and intensive care units. I have a graduate degree in nursing education. After 10 years into my career I found myself coaching, teaching and mentoring younger nurses at the start of their career on a regular basis. This organically evolved my nursing path into one of coaching and mentoring as a nurse educator. This is what I have been doing for the last 14 years.

Today I am certified by the National Wellness Institute as a Wellness Practitioner.

Like it did for so many, the pandemic changed me and my trajectory. My family underwent a tremendous amount of strain and difficulty with their health. I failed to take care of myself because so much life was happening that overwhelming stress and burnout and consumed me. It became incredibly difficult, I was juggling several things between work, kids and marriage. I was overwhelmed with my endless to do lists, I was not feeling any happiness anymore, I stopped enjoying my work, or anything for that matter. I couldn't focus or get organized. Just the simple thought of trying to figure out what was for dinner for my family made me cry. I felt lost after a while, and alone. I felt like no one understood me and what I was going through, and therefor no one could help me. I started procrastinating, crying regularly whenever I could find a space to be alone, like in my car. In the mean time I had already branded myself as a tough person and was the "go-to" for everyone, and it has always been my nature to not want to let anyone down, so I would push through whatever I had going on and help others. Eventually, everything was so out of control for me that I ended up taking a stress leave from work to give me some time to catch my breath. But that was only two months and I went right back to work, falling right back into my pain. Shortly thereafter I quit my job.

The Road To Healing

Now life had me taking a mandatory timeout. This was only making the stress worse, because it wasn't convenient, as I felt I had too much to do and a time out was not in the schedule for me! None the less, I had to, because the stress had overwhelmed me and consumed me, and I could no longer effectively function. I had no choice now but to take action and heal myself.

I signed on for therapy, life coaching, and health coaching, put myself back in the gym and began the work!

I had to unlearn, relearn and just plain learn new stories, ideas and habits. I had old stories and habits that were no longer helping me in life and in fact contributing to the problem. Through all this coaching I rebuilt myself, establishing new perspectives and thought processes that allowed me to better navigate and respond in my day to day in ways that were less damaging to me and more strengthening, empowering, and healthy. THIS WAS HARD! And this took time. Most importantly - it was nothing I could have done alone!! I needed my life coach to show me that path that I personally needed to take and to hold me accountable.

Today I have Energy, Clarity & Joy!

Today I am living life on my own terms!! I no longer let guilt, obligation, fear, external or internal pressures drive my decision making. I am now able to live my life in a way that allows me space and time to just be, while being there for everyone else. I have enough energy and mental clarity to experience joy in my day to day and I refuse to live in slavery to stress. I have a new mindset. I can set loving and supportive boundaries that protect me and I am more productive than ever before!
